Hey @MyClearwater, @ILovetheBurg, @PinellasCountyFlorida, @PinellasGov and all you Tampa folks across the bay … Monster Seeds illustrator @wedersomarantes does it all beautifully, but I think he's at his best with the extra-creepy, kinda-scary, "mean monsters" in the book. That twisty vine thingy (which spans two full pages in the Monster Seeds picture book)? In Monster Seeds, monsters are made when kids tell lies. And when that lie leads to others, those lies feed the monster that was created by the first lie – making it grow bigger, more mischievous, meaner, and hungrier. Just to put your mind at ease, THIS is how monsters feel about eating children -- it's a shockingly gross idea.
